2022 & 2024
Project brief
I liked the idea that there are some creatures around us that are not human beings, but they make you dream. They could be anywhere, they could be a kite on the tree, a plastic bottle on the window, a pile of paper .. or a scarecrow in the field. Then I started to feel that I needed more and more of these objects around me. They are dreamers like me. So maybe you are a stone. It doesn’t matter. I’m just a voice for you. It doesn’t matter. Most important thing is that you can hear me. I can feel you.”

to conclude
Hierarchy is often present in collaboration. In past, I have found myself having a “fight” about a specific design element (like the texture of a material, or colour). With distance (and perspective) I could acknowledge that such disagreements are less about the thing itself, and more about the relationship dynamics between me and other collaborators. The transfering of trust, communication, and collaboration takes more time to establish in relationships than I like to admit. When such trust happens so naturally that is almost imperceptible, it’s something to be celebrated. This was the case of this collaboration with Rimah Jbar (director). I continue being amazed at Rimah’s power in playing with the hierarchy of the “Director” and taking my spatial/material proposals and removing what is excess in my design. Pointing to a direction that creates a feedback loop of my work of Visual Artist inspiring her work as the Director, and vice-versa.
